How to Get to Isle of Harris

Flights operate from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Barra, Benbecula or Inverness to Stornoway airport on the Isle of Lewis and there are usually two flights per day.  The lodges are approximately an hour and 30 minutes drive from the airport. Car hire is available at the airport and booking is recommended.

The car and pedestrian ferry runs 7 days a week. One route runs into the ferry terminal at Tarbert from Uig on the Isle of Skye (a journey of approximately 1 1/2 hours). 

 

Another route runs from  Ullapool to Stornoway (journey of approximately 2 1/2 hours).

 

There is also a ferry from North Uist to Leverburgh.

 

Enquiries and reservations should be made through the operator Caledonian MacBrayne. Please ensure you book the ferry prior to travelling as especially in the summer the ferry can be busy.

The ferry terminal at Uig and Ullapool can be accessed buses from Glasgow and Inverness as well as trains from Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh.

On arrival on Harris, take the A859 road heading South for approximately 5 miles until the sign for Geocrab, Manish, Finsbay and Roghdal. Travel through Geocrab and Manish, and approximately 3 miles beyond Manish is the village of Finsbay. Follow the sign for Quidinish Gallery.

On arrival on Harris, take the A859 road heading South for approximately 8 miles until the sign for Geocrab, Manish, Finsbay and Roghdal. Travel through Geocrab and Manish, and approximately 3 miles beyond Manish is Quidinish road end and the sign for Quidinish Gallery, the lodges sit below this junction.
